<br />/ <br />i <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />- 3 - <br /> <br />Item 23e. <br />Issues/Goals: The 1999-2002 drought and lack a precipitation inspired a number of Colorado <br />communities to request or expand their "Cloud Seeding" activities and programs. The CWCB program <br />is designed to pennit the operating programs and insure that provisions are implemented to monitor <br />public safety and the environment and permit only quality operators. <br /> <br />Actions: The CWCB staff has pennitted six wintertime operations, which will cover approximately <br />25 per cent of the Colorado snow courses. In addition to monitoring and pennitting the Colorado <br />"Cloud Seeding Program", The CWCB staff participates as a member of the Western States Weather <br />Modification Council, will seek program funding from the Bureau of Reclamation, seeks funding for a <br />Climatological Assessment of Cloud Seeding of Colorado Watersheds, is completing a GIS mapping <br />project to build databases for analyzing the effects of seeding and monitors the pennitted programs. <br /> <br />Flood Protection.
