NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:

1. The Colorado Water Conservation Board under the
powers granted it by legislature of the State of Colorado,
exercise its function in compiling, collating and correl-
ating all available information relative to underground
water in Colorado and its problems in the fields of
engineering, geology, economics, law and administration.

2. That the Colorado Water Conservation Board
request the General Assembly of the State of Colorado for
an appropriation of $50,000.00 for the following purposes:

1

a. To make a study of underground water
situation and the related engineering, economic,
geological, legal and administrative problems;

b. To review the laws and experiences of other
western states on underground water field;

c. To consult with competent legal, engineering,
geological and economic authorities on under-
ground water problems;

d. To'seek the cooperation of all public and
private agencies on the underground water problems;

e. To prepare and publish a report of its investi-
gation and study;

f. To hold hearings on said report and proposed
code;

g. To draft an underground water code for the
State of Colorado to be recommended to the
Colorado State Legislature.

3. That the Colorado Water Conservation Board propose
the creation of an interim committee of the Colorado
Legislature for the study of underground water problems.

4. That the Colorado Water Conservation Board be
empowered to employ such professional services or agencies
as it deems necessary to make said survey and submit the
results of said survey together with proposed legislation
to the interim committee of the Colorado Legislature on or
before June 1, 1957.
