<br />NO" TIIEREFORE, it is hereby agreed that;
<br />
<br />1. The objective of tbe program is to increase the sno'Wpack in
<br />;1 p01:tioll of the lllountQin areas of the State of Culorado) which portion
<br />is generally described as those mountain areas of the State lying north
<br />()[ all CJst-hlcst line extending from Rifle to Littleton, but more par-
<br />c,iculnrly-eAcscribed in the proposal att.lchcci hereto and made a part of
<br />this COtltl~.JCt.

<br />z. l~e Contractor shall conduc~ cloud seeding operations through
<br />the (~lllpl()YIllL~llt of not less th.ll1 thirty-five (35) manually operuted
<br />~1."ound b.:lsccI cloud nuclei generators) and one aircraft as hereinafter
<br />described.
<br />
<br />3. In addition to the operation of ground generators, the
<br />Contractor shall furnish and employ OTIe Piper Navajo, PA-31, aircraft
<br />[or a c~nbinatian of cloud seeding and monitoring. Cloud seeding by
<br />slIch airel-<tft sh3l1 take pl<Jce only when f.o.vorable weather conditions
<br />[or seeding exist in the target arcas and such target areas cannot be
<br />,ldl!CJuately seeded by the use of previously installed ground generators.
<br />S.1.id aircrnft is to be equipped with a data recording system and other
<br />such equipment as mClY be necessary to permit an accurate laboratory
<br />;\l1alysis of ice nuclei in the orogrnphic cloud masses. In addition to
<br />;lllY such ~lil.."crafl: cloud seeding opc"t"ation::>, said aircraft shall be
<br />l'lllploycd ,IS dil-cctCc! by the State or l.ts designated representative to
<br />"I~sist i.n the lllonitoring and evaluation o[ the weather modification
<br />activities being carried on by the State. It is understood between
<br />the parties hereto that the Contractor's proposal heretofore referred
<br />to docs not inclue all 01 the equipment and flying time necessary to
<br />c~rry on the monitoring and evaluation that may be required by aircraft.
