<br />TO MODIFY WEATHER
<br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that WEST-
<br />ERN WEATHER CONSULTANTS, INC., a
<br />Colorado corporation, of 835 E. 2nd Ave'l
<br />Durango. . Colorado 81301, hereinafter re-
<br />ferred to as "Applicant," has or is about to
<br />file wiU1 the Executive Director of the
<br />Colorado Department of Natural Resources
<br />an application for a pennit to conduct
<br />weather modirication operations within the
<br />State of Colorado and within the areas
<br />hereinafter more specifically stated. The
<br />Applicant shall conduct such operations for
<br />and on behalf of the following:

<br />The name of the person who shall be in
<br />control of the weather modification pro-
<br />gram' is LAWRENCE M. HJERMSTAD,
<br />who holds Weather Modification License
<br />No. 85-3.
<br />The Primary Target Ar~a of the opera-
<br />tions [or which a Weather Modification
<br />Permit is sought is described as follows:
<br />The Western San Juan MOWltains above
<br />9,000 ft. m.s.l. in the Animas, La Plata,
<br />Mancos, and Dolores drainage basins. The
<br />target area includes portions of the
<br />following counties within the State of
<br />Colorado:
<br />Dolores, Montezuma, LaPlala and San
<br />Juan.
<br />The general area beyond the Primary
<br />Target Area which may reasonably be
<br />expected to be affected by the weather
<br />modification operations for which a Permit
<br />is sought includes all or a portion of the.
<br />following counties within the _ State of
<br />Colorado:
<br />San Miguel, Ouray, Hinsdale and Arcnu-
<br />leta
<br />The expected duration of the weather
<br />modification operations for which a Permit
<br />. is sought is from about November 15, 1985
<br />to March 31, 1986.
<br />The 'intended effect of the weather
<br />modification operations is to increase the
<br />. snowpack and precipitation in the above-
<br />indicated Primary Target Area to provide
<br />additional water supplies for storage,
<br />

<br />swear that I am the publisher of the Dove Creek
<br />Press, ,that the same is a weekly newspaper printed,
<br />in whole or in part and published in the County of
<br />Dolores, State of Colorado, and has a general
<br />circulation therein; that said newspaper has been
<br />published continuously and uninterruptedly in said
<br />Dolores County for a period of more than' fiHv-two
<br />consecutive weeks next prior to the first publication
<br />of the annexed legal notice or advertisement; and
<br />said newspaper has been admitted to the United
<br />States mails as second class matter under the
<br />provisions of the Act of March 3, 1879, or any
<br />amendments thereof, that said newspaper is a weekly
<br />newspaper duly qualified for publishing legal notices
<br />and advertisements within the meaning of the laws of
<br />the State of Colorado, .

<br />That the annexed legal notice or advertisement was
<br />published in the regular and entire issue of every
<br />number of said weekly newspaper for a period of

<br />collducted by the Applicant are available

<br />Executive Director of the Department of
<br />Natural Resources, Centennial Building,
<br />Suite 718, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver,
<br />Colorado 80203.
<br />A public hearing on the application for a
<br />permit to conduct the proposed weather
<br />modification operations shall be held at
<br />10:30 o'clock A.M. on October 2, 1985, at
<br />the La Plata County courthouse in the Blue
<br />Spruce Room in Durango, Colorado 81301.
