1 public relations work down in the ouray/Silverton area?

2

MR. HJERMSTAD: The public relations work that

3 has been done is essentially the release of the Notice of

4 Intent to Modify the Weather. An intensive public relations

S effort was done during the pilot project, which at that time

8 included a portion of the -- included ouray and silverton.

1 At that time there were many meetings, considera-

8 tions made, and I have had no inquiries personally or indir-

9 ectly through the Director of Natural Resources, or requests

10 for any special information in that area. I essentially con-

11

sidered it as an area I did not expect would have an effect

12

I
I
from this program.

13

MR. GRANT: Larry, I would like to ask a clarify-

14

ing question. What I have understood you to say about the

IS downwind effect is this: that in the pilot project there

18 were certain weather conditions that for which downwind

11

effects were found. There were other conditions during the

18

Pilot project where downwind effects were not observed.

19

Now, as I understand you, you are saying that the

20

conditions found in the Pilot Project to produce downwind

21

effects are being eliminated from your program.

22

MR. HJERMSTAD: That's correct.

23

MR. GRANT: And that you are seeding only for the

24

ones that in the pilot project were found to not have down-

2S

wind effects, is that correct?

-33-
