As the line moved eastward rapidly (around 45 to '.' 50 mph), the
individual 'storms in the line moved southeasterly. Seeding began in
Greeley County, Beat of Towner, co at 7:33 p.lll., eventu8,lly lj!nding
up with.,.three aircraft seeding north-south a~:ross' Greeley and
Wallaqe counties. The last plane seeded in northern Hamil ton County
beqinning at 7:54p.m. As seeding was progressing gUSt fronts were
being pushed out strongly to the east all along the line at one
time or another.

, The plane seeding in northern Hamilton WaS moved south along
the leading edge of the line arriving in western Stanton County at
8:28 p.m. After seeding over Stanton and Grant counties tl1e
seeding aircraft moved northward into Kearny County to assist the
three other aircraft---the three other planes had been following
the line eastward and had been directed to concentrate mostly in NW
K9arny and .sou-tharn. ~':1ch1ta counties. Severe 1;hundorstorrn~ .brought
strongly wind (64 mph-maximum) driven small hail and moderate rain
to the radar site. All aircraft continued seeding the line over
Finney, Gray, Haskell and Ford counties unt.1.1 the storm system
showed signifioant weakening, around 10:25 p.m., at which time all
flights were terminated. Total flight time on this operation was
15;6 hours.

JULY 13th114th - OPERATIONAL DAYS #29/30: A few thunderstorms built
in eastern Colorado during the afternoon and moved easterly toward
Kansas. A cold front alao passed through during the evening. As the
storms moved closer to the state line new storm growth increased,
forming a north-south oriented line as it moved into Kansas. Three
cloud base planes were initially scrambled at 9:35 ~.m. to meet the
~rimary storm developing near: Holly, CO, but collapsed shortly
a(~erward. The remaining two planes were scrambled at 9:50 p.m. as
significant, strong new cloud growth occurred in west-central and
northwestern Stanton County. Seeding beqan at 10:04 p.m. in
south~rn Hamilton and western stanton with three aircraft focusing
work there. The fourth cloud base plane worked over northern
Hamilton County.. The cloud top aircraft began seeding over
northeastern Hamilton at 10:52 p.m. and worked north-south along
the line of storros...,..which-h;ofl "'T:'a~nized by, that time seeding. from
Qreeley County across Hamilton and Stanton, then back across Grant,
Kearny and wichita counties. All aircraft stayed in front of the
eastedy-moving line as it moved into the central patt of the
target area and seeded north to south into the front-feeding
~pdraft areas of that line.

Initially, seeding was to reduce haili however, by 11:50 p.m.
storm intensities and updrafts had decreased to levels low enough
so that rainfall stimulation could be continued over a larger area
beginning at 11:50 p.m.. The flight of the cloud top aircraft was
terminated' at 11:35 p.m~ Seeding to increase rain was performed
across southern parts of Scott and Lane counties, Finney, Haskell,
Gray and western Ford County. Other aircraft flights terminated'at
12,08 a.m., 12:22 a.m., 12:37 a.m. and 2:01 a.m. Total flight time
on this operation was 19.3 hours. '
