Hamilton and NW Kearny County and it was only able to be seeded
briefly by one plane from 5:46 - 5:55 p.m, prior to its collapsing
in approximately the same general area.

Around IS: 00 - 6: 20 p. m., all si,gnit icant n\O!w cloud growth
inside the target area had ended and all flights were terminated.
Ho~ever, around ~:39 p.m, radar observed strong r.-intensification
.about 10 NW of tribune. At that time only one plane waG atill in
flight and able to be recalled from landing: seeding began NW of
tribune ~t 0:5? p.ln. One of the plane's wing genel-ator's became
inoperable at 7: 06 p. m. No hail was indicated in the Greeley storm
by 7: 23 p.tu. An unseeded t,ai I-bearing stor'lll briefly appeared at
nearly the same t1me,elnbedded in a.generaLstorm area aver Wallace
CO\lnty just W. of Sharon Spl'ings. A short tilue later ther'e was
some s,;,eding for rain augmentation briefly in eastern Hamil ton
County, expecting effect 1n Kmarny, Greeley and Wichita counties.
Seeding ended at 7:45 p.m.

JULY 9th---OPERATIONAL DAY #22: Ey 12: 44 p, m., MDT. pl,mee; Were

relatively stagnant surface t1'0\.18h. Seeding first began near
Deerfield at 1: 06 p. nj., and J.n Stanton county at 1: 12 p, In. then
briefly :;;hifted to eastern Finney and Lane counties: however,
generator p,"oblems and a simul taJ1EH;Jus laok of significant storms
allowed two flights to be tenninated, Seeding continued in NW
IJtanton County"' NE Ba.;;a County (Colorado) with one base plane and
in Lane CO\lnty by the c loud top plane. Storms t,'acked NE and new

by storms east or southeast of them. Seeding in Baca County was
froln 2: 07 - 2: 13 p; In. with 16 grams of 811 ver-iodi.de burned.

Overall intenG1f1catlon along 'tIle UE-S," line was evident by
2: 45 p. In. and both ,-elllaining base planes were re-scrambled.
Seeding cont1nuHd narth and northwest acre8S Lane, Scott, Wichita,
Finney, Kearny 6.nd Stanton counties as the afternoon progressed.
By 4:20 p.m. an extremely intense storm was seen near the
'Marienthal~]\\odoc ar~a. having been seeded by one cloud base aircraft
and the cloud t9p planm---the cloud top plane running out of its
dry ice seeding agent at that time, Another- base 1'1o;ne was sent to
!:lsslst. The third base plane ran out of seedir1g agent at 4: 28 p. m.
The two base planes contJ.nued working further northward across N.
Scott, N. Wichita and ~allace cQuntles, eventually curving into
Greeley County and SE Cheyenne County (Colorado). The two planes
ended seeding in the Greeley-WallaCe-Cheyenne County area at 6:31
p.m. The seedine; in ColOI-a.1o was from 6:22 p,m. to 6:25 p.m. with
6 grarns of ailver iodide burned.
