At that time only one plane waG atill in <br />flight and able to be recalled from landing: seeding began NW of <br />tribune ~t 0:5? p.ln. One of the plane's wing genel-ator's became <br />inoperable at 7: 06 p. m. No hail was indicated in the Greeley storm <br />by 7: 23 p.tu. An unseeded t,ai I-bearing stor'lll briefly appeared at <br />nearly the same t1me,elnbedded in a.generaLstorm area aver Wallace <br />CO\lnty just W. of Sharon Spl'ings. A short tilue later ther'e was <br />some s,;,eding for rain augmentation briefly in eastern Hamil ton <br />County, expecting effect 1n Kmarny, Greeley and Wichita counties. <br />Seeding ended at 7:45 p.m. <br /> <br />JULY 9th---OPERATIONAL DAY #22: Ey 12: 44 p, m., MDT. pl,mee; Were <br />sorambled' to a devlillaping !IE-SW line of ~d.de1y-spaced stonus from <br />eastern Finnc;y County to SW Slanton County bui loing ",Ion!'; the <br />relatively stagnant surface t1'0\.18h. In. and both ,-elllaining base planes were re-scrambled. <br />Seeding cont1nuHd narth and northwest acre8S Lane, Scott, Wichita, <br />Finney, Kearny 6.nd Stanton counties as the afternoon progressed. <br />By 4:20 p.m. an extremely intense storm was seen near the <br />'Marienthal~]\\odoc ar~a. having been seeded by one cloud base aircraft <br />and the cloud t9p planm---the cloud top plane running out of its <br />dry ice seeding agent at that time, Another- base 1'1o;ne was sent to <br />!:lsslst. The third base plane ran out of seedir1g agent at 4: 28 p. m. <br />The two base planes contJ.nued working further northward across N. <br />Scott, N. Wichita and ~allace cQuntles, eventually curving into <br />Greeley County and SE Cheyenne County (Colorado). The two planes <br />ended seeding in the Greeley-WallaCe-Cheyenne County area at 6:31 <br />p.m. The seedine; in ColOI-a.1o was from 6:22 p,m. to 6:25 p.m. with <br />6 grarns of ailver iodide burned. <br /> <br />Finally, one bl'J.ef ndnfall stimulation fU.ght was attempted <br />after dusk wi.th Pl.e plane workj.ng frol'll NW Grant COU!lty into KeEu-ny, <br />Finney and Ii",,,lrell COllnt1",s frnm p" '31 - 0: 36 p. m. <br />
