The same is done with the control area(s) data. The mathematical <br />relationship between the target and control areas during an historical not- <br />seeded base period is estimated via statistical regression. <br />For each seeded season, the control area values (snowpack and <br />precipitation) are input into the regression equations to estimate "natural" <br />values for the target area. <br />The calculated "natural" target area values are compared to the observed <br />values to estimate the individual seeded season results. <br />Multiple season seeded data can be accumulated, strengthening the <br />probability of accuracy of the indicated results. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />3 <br />
