We would
appreciate you filing the same.

In regard to the parameters to be established in the permit for
sound control we would suggest the following:

1. In all populated areas within 1/2 mile of the location of the
cannon, that it be placed in a recessed concrete lined conical
depression, approximately 5 foot in depth and be surrounded by
straw or hay bales 4 feet in width and 16 feet in height.

2. In areas of population of more than 1/2 mile and less than 1
mile be protected by hay bales 4 feet in width and 12 feet in
height on the side that separates the cannon from the residences.

3. In areas of residences more than a mile distance, no protection
required.

subsequent to the hearing, I indicated to you that Dr. Dennis
Fleisher, the sound expert selected by us, would render a report as
to the decibel levels and it would accompany our brief. I must now
apologize for his unavailability until after the latter part of the
week of July 8 (Due to the fact he -is working on a project in the
Mid West), however, to supplement the file, we will furnish it to
you later. Our present preliminary check of decibel readings
indicates that the protection as set forth above furnishes decibel
readings in all areas below the requirements of the Colorado
Department of Public Health.
