KS 67860 <br /> <br />Re: Permit Renewal No. 88-2 <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Smith: <br /> <br />This will acknowledge receipt of your letter dated March <br />18. 1988. requesting a renewal of Weather Modification Permit <br />No. 84-3 (copy enclosed), which permit is for operations <br />intended to augment natural rainfall and to suppress hail in <br />certain southwestern Kansas counties. This permit was granted <br />on March 27, 1984. by the Executive Director of the Colorado <br />Department of Natural Resources for the period April <br />15-September 15. 1984. It was twice renewed by the Executive <br />Director for the periods April 22 - September 15, 1985, and <br />April 15 - September IS, 1986. Your request for a third <br />renewal of this permit is being acted upon by me pursuant to <br />the delegation of authority which the Executive Director of the <br />Department of Natural Resources has made to me to perform his <br />duties and powers in carrying out the provisions of the Weather <br />Modification Act of 1972 (Article 20 of Title 36. CRS). <br /> <br />Pursuant to Section 36-20-114 (2). CRS. I am hereby <br />granting a renewal of Weather Modification Permit No. 84-3 for <br />tQe iod April 15 - September 15, 1988, inclusiv <br />renewal, whicns-hall be denominated Permit Renewal No. 88-2 is <br />su Jec 0 e' erms and Con ll:ions" of Permlt~o~8~-3. the <br />requirements of the weather modification rules and regulations <br />dated August 1, 1986 (2 CCR 40l-1), and the requirements of <br />Article 20 of Title 36, eRS; except that the radar reflectivity <br />criteria set forth in Attachment B to Permit No. 84-3 shall be <br />changed from "30-dbz" to "45 dbz. and the seeding rate for hail <br />suppression for dry ice shall be changed from ".4536 Kg per <br />min." to ".8712 Kg per minute". In granting this renewal, I <br />have reviewed and hereby approve of this project's past <br />operational record and I do hereby waive the procedures for <br />initial issuance of a permit, which waiver is authorized by <br />section 36-20-114 (2), CRS. <br /> <br />4872E <br />
