The permit <br />request is to release cloud seeding materials from <br />aircraft over eastern Cheyenne, Kiowa, Prowers and <br />Baca counties in Colorado to augment rain and <br />suppress hail in Kansas <br /> <br />LI CENSEE: <br /> <br />The person in control of the project is Curtis D. <br />Smith, who holds a valid Colorado weather <br />modification license. <br /> <br />PERMIT RESTRICTED: <br /> <br />To flights up to 10 nautical miles west of the <br />Colorado/Kansas border over Cheyenne, Kiowa, <br />Prowers, and Baca counties <br /> <br />PERMIT EFFECTIVE: <br /> <br />April 15, 1986 - September 15, 1986 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL PERMIT DATE: March 27, 1984 <br /> <br />This permit renewal is issued by the Executive Director. Department <br />of Natural Resources, State of Colorado based on the application dated <br />2/26/86, the report of the 1985 program, public comments and <br />recommendations of Colorado Weather Modification Advisory Committee <br />members. <br /> <br />The application for original permit was reviewed at a public meeting <br />on March 21, 1984, City Hall, Holly, Colorado. The hearing officer was <br />Thomas R. Pointon, Arkansas River Basin representative, Colorado Weather <br />Modification Advisory Committee. <br /> <br />The proceedings were recorded by electronic recording equipment and <br />are available for review or transcription upon request. <br /> <br />Western Kansas Groundwater Management District #1, "Applicant," was <br />represented by Mr. English Hammond, Project Director. <br /> <br />Additional testimony was offered by persons in attendance. <br />
