seeding for hail into eastern Stevens County until 7:15 p.m. when
it weakened allowing one to be sent to assist seeding a storm for
hail in Meade County, south of Gray, where the cloud top p~ane had
begun seeding at 6:55 p.m. and a cloud base plane been seed~ng from
7:05 p.m. A gust front from the Meade storm helped invigorate the
Stevens storm area ,and new storm development built into western
Stevens. Seeding continued in Stevens until 8:52 p.m, Meanwhile,
the cloud top plane was out of dry ice at 8:35 p.m.; at 8:38 p.m.
two cloud base planes were diverted to other storms and two others
sent in for resupply at 8:38 p.m. Another two flights were
terminated at 8:52 and 8:56 p.m.

~, -.... ",
~:t';9{0~-w.rn. ~a north-south l~ne of st'Orms had advanced clo~e
'to stanton County so that scrambl~ng four cloud base planes to ~t
and diverting one other was called for. Two planes began seeding at
8:08 p~m. and the others beginning at 8:10 p.m. As the line of
storms was moving through Morton C01.lnty, enroute ,to Stevens I ,it
collapsed becoming weaker. Although seeding ended at 11:20, it was
patrolled until 11:32 p.m.

JUNE 26th - OPERATIONAL DAY *33; An isolated storm near Satanta
triggered a four-plane scramble at 12:44 a.m. By the time the
first seeding plane arrived the storm had lower updrafts. Some
seeding was done from 1:42 and 1:49 a.m., then all aircraft were
sent back to their bases.

At 2:50 p.m. four cloud base planes and the cloud top plane
were scrambled when new storms built south of Ford County; they
were expected to move into Ford. However, those storms collapsed
and all flights were terminated at 3:30 p.m. Two planes landed at
Dodge City to remain on standby for new storm development around
Ford or Gray counties. Although showers and thunderstorms built
southwest of Stevens County, they did not hold together long enough
to present any problems. No further seeding was performed,

JUNE 27th - OPERATIONAL DAY #34 : A broad area of storms began to
form in the eastern portions of the target area from Lane County
southward across Finney into southern Qray County. This prompted
scrambling three cloud base planes and the cloud top plane between
1:05 and 1:10 p.m. Another was scrambled at 1:21 p,m: One plane
began seeding near Montezuma at 1:40 p.m. and two others began on
a separate storm near Cimarron at 1:50 and 1:53 p.m., respectively.
As, the broad zone of storms moved easterly, individual storms
tracked northeast out of the target area. One flight terminated at
1:40 p.m. Seeding ended in southeastern Gray at 1;46 p.m. and in
northeast Gray at 2:13 p.m. When all seeding ended at cloud base
at 2:23 p.m., two planes were sent to standby in Dodge City, The
cloud top plane seeded in Gray County from 2;30 to 2:40 p.m. before
ending. New storms did form in southwestern Ford County by 3;10
p.m. and the cloud base planes in Dodge City were scrambled. They
began seeding for hail at 3;15 p.m. west 'of Dodge City and seeded
them until 3:28 p.m. at which time they were on the verge of moving
out of the target area into southwestern Hodgeman County.
