Ther~ was a scramble for potential rainfall augmentation
at 5:18 p.m. in Oklahoma but was canceled at 5:33 p.m.

JUNE 3rd - OPERATIONAL DAY *16: A weak frontal boundary lay N-S in
Western Kansas and the Oklahoma Panhandle this day. By 12 noon the
first plane was airborne and did some rainfall stimulation briefly
near Garden City 12:16 - 12:20 p.m. A very strong new storm built
near Walsh, Colorado, and the airborne plane was directed toward
that area anticipating it would move easterly into Stanton County.
Other planes scrambll:d at 12:48 p.m. with seeding beginning in
southwest Stanton at 12:56 p.m. Three more planes joined at 12:59,
1:23 and 1:47 p.m., respectively, and the cloud top joined at 1:38
p.m. and seeded over parts of Stevens, Grant and Haskell counties.
After some needed maintenance, the last plane launched at 1:47 p.m.
and ,joined in seeding first over Kearny at 2:14p.m then moving
into Grant and Stevens counties as the storm complex moved ENE from'
Stanton County. At 3 p.m. the cloud top plane returned to Dodge
City for fuel and dry ice. After running out of supplies, one plane
ended seeding at 3:36 p.m.; two more ended at 3:44 p.m., a 4th at
3:46 p.m., and the last one at 5:51 p.m.

The cloud top plane was airborne again at 3:46 p.m. and
seeding south of Lakin at 4: 22 p. m. Other new storms began to
intensify vigorously near Syracuse soon reorganizinc;r with the
storms in Kearny County to become a large NW-SE line of storms. One
aircraft left the storm being worked much weaker---it had moved
through Stanton, Grant and Gray counties into southwestern Ford
County. All planes were brought to the new line of storms to work
around the multiple cells in it capable of producing hail. Also,
within the line of storms in Hamilton County was one area which was
less well-visible and less well-seeded which quickly strengthened
to become supercell variety; it moved southerly into central and
southeastern Stanton County causing extensive wind-and hail damage
to crops in that area. By 6:15 p.m. the cloud top plane had run out
of dry ice once again. Seeding continued until the storm had moved
into northeastern Morton where it dissipated. Seeding ended at 6:48
p.m. and at 6:56 p.m. all patrolling ended as did operations.

JUNE 4th - OPERATIONAL DAY #17: By 4:29 p.m. an E-W line of
towering cumulus and thunderstorms forming across southern Gray and
Ford, counties. New cell propagation was to the north, on the "back
side" of the line. The two flights which were scrambled were
canceled at 5:15 p.m. when the line collapsed and moved out of the
target area.

Later a large, but weak, storm cluster moved southeasterly
from eastern Colorado into western Hamilton and western Greeley
counties. All planes were scrambled beginning at 7:02 p.m. because
of the warmer temperatures and higher concentration of moisture
available to the storm in the area being moved into---dew points
were in the high 50s and low 60s.

precautionary seeding began at 7:26 p.m. Three cloud base
planes seeded for hail suppression until 7:50 p.m., however, the
