NOTICE OF INTENT TO MODIFY WEATHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that WESTERN WEATHER CONSULTANTS, 11C, 1102 Co, Rd. 220, Durango, Colorado 81303, hereinafter referred to as "Applicant", has or is about to file with the Director of the Colorado Water Conservation Board aD application to renew their Permit #95-1 to conduct weather modification operations within the State of Colorado and within the areas hereinafter more specifically stated. The Applicant shall conduct such operations for and on behalf of the following: Beaver Creek Associates, Inc., Box 7, Vail, CO 81658 Beaver Creek Resort Company of Colorado, Box 5390, Avon CO 81620-5390 Vail Associates, Inc., Box 7, Vail, CO 81858 The name of the person who shall be in control of the weather modification program is LAWRENCE M. HJERMSTAD, who is the Manager of Western Weather Consultants, LLC. The primary Target Area of the operations for which the Permit renewal is sought is described as follows: The mountains and ski slopes specifically over an,d around the Vail and Beaver Creek Ski areas. The target area includes parts of Eagle County within the State of Colorado. The Program is designed, operated and intended to affect only the Target Area within Eagle County. The Weather Modification Rules and Regulations 2 CCR 401-1 (C(2)) require at a minimum this notice also be published in all adjacent counties to the Target Area county which include the following counties within the State of Colorado: Routt, Garfield, Pitkin, Lake, Summit and Grand. The expected duration of the weather modification operations for which the permit renewal is sought is from November 1, 2000 to March 31, 2001 and continuing for the next nine consecutive years through 2010. (This program has been ongoing for the past twenty-five years) The intended effect of the weather modification operations is to increase the snowpack and precipitation in the above-indicated Primary Target Area for recreational use. Box 58, Durango, Colorado 81302, or from the Director of the Colorado Water Conservation Board, Centennial Building, Suite 721,1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203. A public hearing on the application for a permit renewal to conduct the proposed weather m:odification operations shall be held at 1:15 o'clock PM on August 24,2000 at the Vail Public Library, Community Room at 292 West Meadow Drive, Vail, Colorado 81658.
