<br />Colorado Water Supply Report <br /> <br />Keith Vander Horst. Division of Water Resources, Water Supplv Conditions Update <br />Below you will find information from Keith Vander Horst's report for the month of May, <br /> <br />---The following is a brief water supply conditions update, (A complete water supply update <br />appears on the CWCB webpage,) <br /> <br />South Platte Basin <br />SWSI value (-0,2) indicates that for April the basin water supplies were near nonnal. Reservoir <br />storage was 105% of nonnal at of the end of April. Storage levels in the major plains reservoirs: <br />Julesburg, North Sterling, and Prewitt are at 97% of capacity, Cumulative storage in the major <br />upper-basin reservoirs of Cheesman, Eleven Mile, Spinney, and Antero is at 82% of capacity, The <br />May 1 snowpack is 77% of nonnal. <br /> <br />Arkansas Basin <br />SWSI value (-1.4) indicates that basin water supplies were slightly below nonnal for April. The <br />May 1 snowpack was 107% of nonnal. Streamflows at the gaging station near Portland were 291 <br />cfs, as compared to the long-term average of 431 cfs, Storage in Turquoise, Twin Lakes, Pueblo, <br />and John Martin reservoirs totaled 78% of normal at the end of April. <br /> <br />Rio Grande Basin <br />SWSI value 2,7 indicates that basin water supplies were above normal for April. The May 1 <br />snowpack is 139% of normal. At the end of April storage in Platoro, Rio Grande, and Santa Maria <br />reservoirs totaled 64% of normal. Flow to the state line was 163% of nonnal. Precipitation and <br />temperatures were above average, Streamflow was well above average during the first three weeks <br />of April resulting in an early runoff from the abundant snowpack. <br /> <br />Gunnison Basin <br />The SWSI value 2,7 indicates that for April basin water supplies were above nonnal. The May 1 <br />snowpack was 125% of nonnal. Streamflows at the gaging station at Uncompahgre River near <br />Ridgeway were 134 cfs, as compared to the long-tenn average of 110 cfs, Storage in Taylor Park, <br />Crawford, and Fruitland reservoirs totaled 112% of normal as of the end of April. <br /> <br />Colorado Basin <br />The SWSI value (-0,1) indicates that April basin water supplies were near normal. The May 1 <br />snowpack is 88% of normal. Flow at the gaging station near Dotsero was 1,384 cfs, as compared to <br />the long-term average of 1,779 cfs, Storage in Green Mountain, Ruedi, and Williams Fork <br />reservoirs totaled 123% of average at the end of April. <br /> <br />Yampa/White Basin <br />The SWSI value (-2,3) indicates that water supplies were below normal for the end of April. The <br />May 1 snowpack is 79% of nonnal. Streamflows at the gaging station at Yampa River at Steamboat <br />were 476 cfs, as compared to the average of 589 cfs, Precipitation in April was 94% of average <br />across the basin, <br />
