<br />Colorado <br />Water Availability Task Force <br /> <br />TO: Members of the Colorado Water Availability TaskForce <br /> <br />FROM: Brad Lundahl, Water Availability Task Force Chair <br /> <br />DATE: September 24, 2003 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Minutes of the Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, Task Force Meeting <br /> <br />The meeting was held on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, at NOAA in Boulder, Colorado. Those in <br />recorded attendance included: Brad Lundahl, Keith Vander Horst, Klaus Wolter, Bob Glancy, <br />Mike Gillespie, Nolan Doesken, Scott Archer, Reagan Waskom, Barry Cress, Joe Lambert, <br />Mary Halstead, Brad Udall, Bill Hansen, Joey Bunch, Robin Knox, Robin Webb, <br />Roger Pulwarty, Andrea Ray, Russell Bigley, Philie Sura, John Gordon, Bob Steger <br />Sam Davidson, Shaleen Jain, Chris Rudkin, Gary Bates, and Kathie Hepp-Lucki. <br /> <br />Meeting began at 1:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Brad LundahL Colorado Water Conservation Board. W ATF Chair <br />Brad Lundahl welcomed the group to the meeting and asked everyone to announce their name <br />and organization. Mr. Lundahl said that Sam Davidson would be taking Elizabeth Russell's' <br />place from Trout Unlimited. He connented on the W A TF survey that he distributed at the last <br />meeting and said the results showed that the drought task force was doing a good job. Mr. <br />Lundahl requested possible future meeting locations from the attendees. The DOW building, <br />Denver Water, and Golden were suggested to be the best locations for the W ATF meetings. Mr. <br />Lundahl discussed the survey later in more detail. He also requested that members send him an <br />electronic copy of their presentations as quickly after the meeting as possible so they could be <br />placed on the CWCB website. <br /> <br />Governors Office <br />There was not a report from the Govemor's office for this meeting. <br /> <br />Mike GillesDie. Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) <br />Mr. Gillespie mentioned that there was not much to talk about right now regarding our <br />snowpack. He reported that our snotel data and reservoir storage from September 2001 to <br />August 2003 was extremely low. Mr. Gillespie stated that the precipitation trend for the next 12 <br />months should bring us much closer to our over-all average 14.48 deficit. The last 12 months <br />really hasn't eliminated the deficit of2002. He mentioned that if this year's September is as good <br />as last year's September it would be good, because it would help to improve our soil moisture <br />before going into the winter months.
