No money was made avail- <br /> <br /> <br />able for constructing the project however until July 1, 1979. <br /> <br />The Winter Park Water and Sanitation District has subsequently <br />asked its consulting engineers to proceed and prepare contract <br />documents in order to start construction early in the spring in <br /> <br />1980. . <br /> <br />PROBLEM <br /> <br />When the project was authorized under SB 35, in 1977, no <br /> <br /> <br />provision was made for additional funding due to ordinary increases <br /> <br />in construction costs. Because of inflation, however, it is <br /> <br />./ <br /> <br />expected that the original cost of the project will increase from <br /> <br />$1,500,000 to about $1,800,000, according to the engineers' esti- <br />mate. Based on this estimate, funds required from the state would <br /> <br />be increased from $750,000 to $900,000. <br /> <br />CURRENT STATUS <br /> <br />Requests for increase in state funds were made repeatedly <br />to the Colorado Water Conservation Board. The staff, however, <br /> <br />lacked authority to increase the authorized amounts. <br /> <br />PROPOSED PROJECT <br /> <br />The project as authorized would not change. The request is <br /> <br /> <br />. for increased funding in the amount of $150,000. <br /> <br /> <br />
