<br /> <br />PHOTO <br />NOT <br />AVAILABLE <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />LARRY DIRKS <br />Water Resource Engineer, Denver Water Department <br /> <br />Larry Dirks is an employee of the Denver Water Board where he has now worked for 15 years as <br />a Water Resource Engineer. Prior to that, he worked with his parents on the family fann in <br />Longmont, Colorado. <br />Larry graduated in 1984 from Colorado State University with a Bachelor's Degree in <br />Agricultural Engineering. <br />In his free time, he can usually be found mountain biking, running, or racing in triathlons and <br />duathlons. <br /> <br />JOHN L. PORTER <br />General Manager, Dolores Water Conservancy District (Cortez, Colorado) <br /> <br />Born in Lewis, Colorado Ca community named after his grandfather) on November 4, 1933, John <br />Porter has been in the water business since childhood. He began as his father's helper/irrigator, then <br />was partner/irrigator and fann corporation manager/irrigator. John has been a member of the <br />Boards of Directors for Montezuma Valley Irrigation Company, South West Water Conservation <br />Board and Colorado Water & Power Authority. He has been General Manager of the Dolores Water <br />Conservancy District for the past 15 years. As the new Dolores Project came on-line, he guided <br />growth to its present 28 members. <br />John graduated from Colorado A&M College in 1955. He has been married to Nancy Hicks <br />(Porter) for 43 years, and has two daughters and two grandchildren. <br /> <br />PHILIP SALETTA <br />Engineering Section Supervisor, Water Resources Department <br />Colorado Springs Utilities <br /> <br />Philip is an Engineering Section Supervisor for Colorado Springs Utilities Water Resources <br />Department. Philip leads the Resources Management Section, which is responsible for long-term <br />water development planning and water rights administration. <br /> <br />He is a graduate of Colorado School of Mines, Geological Engineering 1978 and a graduate of <br />the University of Colorado, Masters of Business Administration in Finance, 1994. He is a registered <br />Professional Engineer in Colorado. <br /> <br />He has been involved in watershed planning from the engineering, development, environmental <br />and community perspective. Most recently he and his staff have been involved in the Fountain <br />Creek Watershed Project and the Upper Arkansas Watershed Council. <br /> <br />TAMBI KATIEB <br />Environmental Policy Planner, Eagle County, Colorado <br /> <br />Tambi Katieb, AICP, has been practicing current, long range, and environmental planning for the <br />past 6 years here in Colorado and the Southeastern Pennsylvania. As Environmental Policy Planner <br />for Eagle County and ad-hoc coordinator of the Eagle River Watershed Committee, he is working on <br />increasing community collaboration on issues facing the Eagle River watershed and other similar <br />booming resort communities in the Western Slope. He considers the experiences gained in daily <br />work between politicians. water developers, environmentalists, and the public to be invaluable and <br />hopes to capitalize on all future opportunities to make the Eagle River watershed a model of proac- <br />tive planning on the Western Slope of Colorado. <br />
