5.0 The Edit Menu Diversions The ten columns to the right of the Flow columns reflect diversions from the river for either direct use or storage. The types of diver- sions include In-Priority, Exchange, Transmountain, or Storage Deliveries. Once diverted, water may be used directly or stored. Thus, each type of diversion (for example, Priority Diversions) may have entries for both Direct Use and Storage. Diversions of the same type (Priority, for instance) by different water users at the same structure should be identified in the comment column. All values in the Diversion columns, including Storage Diversions, correspond to flow in cfs. To enter diversion values into the WIS, double click on the row con- taining the diversion structure of interest This action will bring up the Diversion dialog. Prioritv Diversions Priority diversions occur at an original, transferred to or alternate point of diversion. The water right(s) assigned to the diversion must have an administration number senior to any downstream call for water. To specify a priority diversion at a structure, enter the value in the Amount field of the Diversion dialog, specify either Direct or Stor- age (D/S), and the Admin# for the diversion. The administration number is specified by selecting (single click) a water right from the list of Available Water Rights. The Distribute button lets the user work backwards from a total amount, allocating the total to water rights in order from senior to junior. Oistribute Amounts The Distribute function allows you to enter a total amount of either the Direct or Storage type (but not both at the same time), and then allocates that amount to available admin. numbers from senior to junior with each water right taking its full decreed amount until the specified total is reached, or until there are no more rights to add. Drvint! the River Part of the Priority Diversions dialog is the Drying the River indica- tor. The flag is represented on the Priority Diversions dialog by check box. Check this box (next to the fish) if diversions at a structure dry the river.
