<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />upstream slope, (c) flattening of the embankment slopes to at <br />least 2.5 to 1 to improve stability of the structure, (d) raising <br />of the embankment to provide 5 feet of freeboard, (e) installation <br />of a new emergency spillway, (f) installation of a new toe drain, <br />(g) installation of a new filter blanket and new rip rap, <br />(h) repair of the outlet works, and (i) excavation of silt from <br />within the reservoir. Enlargement of the existing reservoir will <br />require a new storage decree for the increase in storage. <br /> <br />This project is the second phase of a plan to enlarge the <br />City of Louisville water supply. The CWCS has previously funded <br />phase I. <br /> <br />Proposed Financing <br />The proposed funding for the project would be: <br /> <br />City provided funds <br />CWCS Funds (to be repaid by water user fees) <br />Total <br /> <br />$1,690,000 <br />$1,690,000 <br />$3,380,000 <br /> <br />Under the financing arrangement, charges would be levied by the <br />CWCS at the rate of $98,493 per year for 40 years for a total <br />repayment of $3,939,720.00. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />It is recommended that the project be authorized by the <br />General Assembly in the amount of $1.69 million, the Board's <br />investment to be repaid subject to the terms of the proposed <br />financing specified above. <br /> <br />/bvm <br /> <br />-2- <br />
