We thank <br />.Thee for the vision and the faithfulness of those in the past <br />who have labored diligently to develop and conserve the great <br />resources of our land. We thank Thee for the fields they <br />carved out of the/orests and the wastelands, for the ditches <br />.they dug to water tile dry lands, and bJess tile people with the <br />fruits of cultivated fields. We thank Thee for the rain and <br />.thesnow tllat quench the thirst of the things we plant, and <br />make the grass and the. plants grow, to nourish and sustain the <br />birds of the air, the beasts of the fields, and tile people of <br />the world. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />And today we tlla,nkThee for the stewardship of the land <br />and of the resources of the earth. Awaken us, we pray Thee, to <br />the importance. of our stewardship; give us the vision and the <br />wisdom necessary to so use the land, the water and all other <br />resources entrusted into our keeping, that all mankind may <br />come to have a good life; and grant us the love and devotion <br />for.this good land of ours that will move us to protect it <br />from the ~xploitation of the greedy, and from those who would <br />destroy it. <br /> <br />Give us the mind and the spirit of Christ, we beseech <br />Thee, which will enable us to love Thee as the giver of all <br />good and perfect gifts, and make us true and faithful stewards <br />of all Thy blessings. <br /> <br />Send Thy Holy Spirit to guide this gathering, and bless <br />especially the leaders who will guide the .thinking of the <br />group.
