<br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I) <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Section 1 <br />Introduction <br /> <br />This study will assist the <br />Colorado Farm Bureau in <br />developiflf? recommenda- <br />tions and stratef?ies jiJr <br />dealinf? with future water <br />resources issues. <br /> <br />Project Goals <br /> <br />The Colorado Water Development Study was initiated by the <br />Colorado Farm Bureau to provide an overview of current and <br />projected water resources conditions in the State of Colorado. <br />The information provided in this study will assist the Colorado <br />Fann Bureau, state water interests and the public in studying pro- <br />posed Colorado water projects, prioritizing those projects, and <br />formulating recommendations and strategies for funding and <br />implementing preferred projects. This undertaking is intended <br />to be a first step in identifying those projects which will be ben- <br />eficial to the long,term interests of the citizens of Colorado, while <br />protecting interstate water compact entitlements and the prior <br />appropriation system. <br /> <br />Scope of Work <br /> <br />The contract scope of work included the following tasks. <br /> <br />Task I ' Project Colorado Water Supply Needs and Water Uses <br />for the Years 2050 and 2100 <br /> <br />Task 2 - Prepare Overview of Existing Colorado Water Supply <br /> <br />Task 3 - Inventory Water Development Agencies, Growth Pro, <br />jections and Water Supply Projections <br /> <br />Task 4 - Aggregate Water Supply Demands by State Water Di- <br />VISIOns <br /> <br />Task 5 - Inventory Proposed Alternative Water Development and <br />Storage Projects <br /> <br />Task 6 - Identify Projects on a Regional Basis <br /> <br />Task 7 - Prepare Phase I Report <br /> <br />Task 8 - Meetings and Project Management <br /> <br />Project Authority <br /> <br />This report was prepared by Montgomery Watson under a con- <br />tract to the Colorado Farm Bureau dated April 25, 1996. <br /> <br />1-1 <br /> <br />__ coloraoo <br />.._ Farm Bureau <br />
