BENEFICIAL USE: Water should be used only for beneficial <br />purposes and shall never be wasted. Water for irriqation <br />of lawns and other outside uses shall be used pursuant to <br />regulations of the Water Department. <br /> <br />97. UNADTHORIZED USE: Any unauthorized use of water shall be <br />paid for at the same rate as if that use had been authorized <br />together with the costs incurred by the Water Deoartment <br />in discovering and collecting for the unauthorized use. Such <br />payments shall not in any way affect the right of the Water <br />Depart~ent to suspend or revoke a license for unauthorized <br />use or charge additional penalities or pursue such other <br />remedies as may be authorized by law. Nor shall it affect <br />any criminal liability which may have attached by reason <br />of such authorized use. <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />The Water Department may require that seals be attached <br />to any water-using system in or about a licensee's <br />premises in order to detect any unauthorized use <br />of water from that system. If necessary, the Water <br />Department may also require that mechanical devices <br />be attached to any water-using system in or upon a <br />licensee's premises in order to detect any unauthorized <br />use of water from that system. Such mechanical <br />devices may be inspected on behalf of the Water <br />Depa~tment at any reasonable time. <br /> <br />98. <br /> <br />INDUSTRIAL, HEATING, PROCESSING AND COOLING SYSTEMS: A <br />water conservation device conforming to specifications as <br />may be required by the ~ater Department shall be installed <br />on the following water facilities when using water origin- <br />ating in the Water System: <br /> <br />A. All heating, processing or other industrial use where <br />reuse of the water without treatment is found practical <br />in__the jud~ment of the _Departrnent.__ _ _______ <br /> <br />B. All evaporative cooling or air conditioning facilities. <br /> <br />c. All refrigerated cooling or air conditioning units. <br /> <br />(See Chapter 10 on Cross-Connection Centrol.) <br /> <br />99. <br /> <br />WATER CONSERVATION DEVICES: A water conservation device, <br />pursuant to 100 above, is any contrivance, process, or <br />procedure whereby all water used for cooling, heating or <br />manufacturing is either consumed in the intended use, or, <br />where water not consumed initially is recycled for the <br />same purpose until it is consumed. <br /> <br />-24- <br />
