CHAPTER 12 - WATER CONSERVATION

96. BENEFICIAL USE: Water should be used only for beneficial
purposes and shall never be wasted. Water for irriqation
of lawns and other outside uses shall be used pursuant to
regulations of the Water Department.

97. UNADTHORIZED USE: Any unauthorized use of water shall be
paid for at the same rate as if that use had been authorized
together with the costs incurred by the Water Deoartment
in discovering and collecting for the unauthorized use. Such
payments shall not in any way affect the right of the Water
Depart~ent to suspend or revoke a license for unauthorized
use or charge additional penalities or pursue such other
remedies as may be authorized by law. Nor shall it affect
any criminal liability which may have attached by reason
of such authorized use.

A.

The Water Department may require that seals be attached
to any water-using system in or about a licensee's
premises in order to detect any unauthorized use
of water from that system. If necessary, the Water
Department may also require that mechanical devices
be attached to any water-using system in or upon a
licensee's premises in order to detect any unauthorized
use of water from that system. Such mechanical
devices may be inspected on behalf of the Water
Depa~tment at any reasonable time.

98.

INDUSTRIAL, HEATING, PROCESSING AND COOLING SYSTEMS: A
water conservation device conforming to specifications as
may be required by the ~ater Department shall be installed
on the following water facilities when using water origin-
ating in the Water System:

A. All heating, processing or other industrial use where
reuse of the water without treatment is found practical
in__the jud~ment of the _Departrnent.__ _ _______

B. All evaporative cooling or air conditioning facilities.

c. All refrigerated cooling or air conditioning units.

WATER CONSERVATION DEVICES: A water conservation device,
pursuant to 100 above, is any contrivance, process, or
procedure whereby all water used for cooling, heating or
manufacturing is either consumed in the intended use, or,
where water not consumed initially is recycled for the
same purpose until it is consumed.
