<br />) <br /> <br />METERED SERVICE AT RIDGWAY DAM: <br /> <br />Raw water releases at Ridgway Dam are monitored on a 24 hour <br />basis through flow meters. Ridgway Dam is operated with a number <br />of objectives. It is a multi-purpose reservoir that provides for <br />irrigation, M&I, recreation, flood control, and fish culture. It <br />is currently operated to meet the needs of all interests. <br /> <br />VALVE MAINTENANCE: <br /> <br />All valves are exercised, checked, and maintained on a regular <br />basis. Valves assist the district in isolating sections of line <br />where leaks have occurred to minimize loss during repair. All <br />leaks are repaired immediately upon their discovery. <br /> <br />TELEMETRY: <br /> <br />The District maintains a telemetry system which monitors treated <br />water storage tanks located across the system. This system has <br />alarms which provide early warning in the event of a large <br />mainline break or loss of water. The telemetry system assists <br />the District in distributing water and maintaining dependable <br />service. <br /> <br />PUBLIC A~SS: <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />The District provides an information sheet to the all customers <br />prior to acquiring service from the District. It includes a list <br />of the most common points of lost water in the individuals <br />service and explains the pertinent operating policies. <br /> <br />Stickers are available to customers to remind them of the many <br />ways they can conserve water. The objective of this effort is <br />aimed at educating the children. We believe that we must educate <br />the youngsters in wise use of water as a resource to promote long <br />term awareness on the issue. <br /> <br />SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS: <br /> <br />The District is constantly upgrading transmission and <br />distribution lines and working on problem areas to keep them <br />maintenance and leak free. Investment in the maintenance of our <br />system is crucial to minimizing administrative losses. <br /> <br />4 <br />
