Treatments within the same column followed by the same letter are not <br />significantly different. <br /> <br />2000 Results: <br />Yield data was not taken in 2000 due to lack of irrigation water to complete the last 3 weeks <br />of growth in the squash field. However, irrigation water applied was recorded for the experiment. <br />As was recorded in 1998 and 1999, significantly more water was applied in the furrow irrigated plots. <br />There was a significant difference in the amount of irrigation water applied between the furrow <br />irrigated plots and the drip irrigated plots. The water applied in the subsurface drip irrigated plots <br />was equivalent to 187,544 gallons of water per acre. The amount of water applied in the furrow <br />irrigated plots was the equivalent to 1,461,600 gallons of water per acre. The subsurface drip <br />irrigated plots were watered every three to four days with the average irrigation time of <br />approximately 5.0 hours. The furrow irrigated plots were watered once weekly with the average <br />irrigation time of 15.8 hours. <br /> <br />5 <br />
