2. Describe the methods you are proposing to monitor or track the change in water
use as a result of the projecI. Also briefly describe how you propose to evaluate
the project results and publicize the results in your area.

The City of Arvada Parks Department is 100% water metered and a very good
record of water use is readily available for the past six years. We would compare
results of water use prior to auditing a park with that of water use after one
growing season. Also, we would be able to use the last three year water use
history from billing records for any town home association in Arvada.

The City of Arvada would publish the results of its water conservation program
in local periodicals, including the Arvada Sentinel and the Arvada Report. In
addition, annual reports for wide distribution to landscape auditors would be
accomplished annually. Further, each trained agency would be requested to turn
in a yearly auditing report in February to the City of Arvada. These annual
reports would be compiled into a master report and sent to the State of Colorado
Board of Water Conservation in March.

3. We are interested in where you got the idea for your project. Please indicate
what research you have done or what resources you used in developing your
project idea.

In December 1988, I completed the training course in San ~bespo,
California for Master Landscape Water Auditor. I came back to Aivacfa with this
training and worked with our parks trying to find an easier way to accomplish a
water audit. I wrote a program using Lotus software that gives the person
responsible for programming the controllers a guide to the frequency times they
should be scheduling stations each month. I have been working with Professor
Robert Walker from Cal Poly who has been keeping up to date with what the
State of California Landscape Auditor Program has been doing.

I have been using the Master Auditor Training Manual and other water
conservation information prepared by MWCI and the American Water Works
Association to help develop my ideas. Also, Toro Manufacturing has some very
useful information that they have shared with me, for I was in class for the
Master Water Audit Training with two of their engineers who are responsible for
water management.

Page -2-
