<br />EXHIBIT A <br /> <br />'L-. Scope of Services <br /> <br />The Project will develop a campus-wide outdoor tab that will incorporate low water use plants, dry land grasses, drip <br />irrigation and specimen trees and shruoo. The project will also include a handicap accessible trail. This project will <br />provide an outdoor environmental classroom for the. students and the community members to use which demonstrates the <br />ecosystem concept. The ecosystem will show the relationship of moisture regimes, plants, wildlife and, through <br />interpretation, the interrelationship to mankind. <br /> <br />The Contractor will develop site layout for plantings; trails; drip irrigation lines placed. six inches below the ground; <br />determine plant species to be planted, determine wildlife needs; i.e., birdhouses; determine soil amendment needs; <br />detennine water needs of the project area and design irrigation system. The water source for this project is ditch water. <br /> <br />The Contractor, through the help of local nurseries and other professionals will determine plant species for the project. <br />The stUdents at Bayfield Elementary school will build bird houses. All tress and shrubs will be tagged with common <br />name, genus and species. <br /> <br />Publicity and promotion of this project will be through the local newspaper and a formal dedication ceremony during <br />school with all school children in attendance. <br /> <br />The evaluation and final report will provide written narrative of installation procedures in manner that would provide <br />assistance to others considering installing an outdoor leaming lab. This report will list positive and negative aspects of <br />the sequence and timetable as it was carried out in Bayfield. A survey of teachers and communities members will be <br />evaluated and included in the final report. <br /> <br />2. Project Time of Performance <br /> <br />The Project wiII commence on July 20, 1992, or upon fun and proper execution of this Contract, <br /> <br />The Project will be completed on or befoce October 1, 1993. However, the Project time of completion may be extended <br />subject to the mutual agreement of the State and Contractor. A written request for extension shan be submitted to the State <br />by the Contractor at least thirty (30) days prior to January 31. 1995 and shall include a full justification for the eittension <br />request. <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 Pages <br />
