E. Distribution system leak repair:

The Board of Water Works of Pueblo monitors its water distribution system
24 hours per day, seven days per week. Computerized monitoring systems control
pressures, flows, & tank levels. The system alerts personnel to any sudden drop in
pressure. This eliminates large unchecked losses of water from the system caused
by main breaks or unexpected opening of fire hydrants. A pipeline repair and
maintenance crew is on duty full time and repairs can be completed on short notice.
This immediate response time eliminates any significant loss of water.

The Board also maintains a continual leak detection program on its water
distribution system through use of a portable ultrasonic leak detection device.
Loss of treated water to undetermined usage has been reduced to an estimated 7%.
This loss includes water used in main flushing, fire protection and city streets
maintenance.

F. Dissemination of information regarding water-use efficiency measures,
including by public education, customer water use audits, and water--saving
demonstrations:

The Board of Water Works of Pueblo maintains a Speakers Bureau as one oftheir
on- going programs which disseminates information to Civic Groups, Home Owners
and Neighborhood Associations.

The Board's AudioNisual Library makes available, through loan, various videos
covering topics related to efficient water use.
