<br />Preface <br /> <br />Green lVIountain Water and Sanitation District has contractual obligations vvith <br />Denver Water Department for distribution of potable water and Metro Wastewater <br />Reclamation District for treatment of sewage. Enforcing statutes, codes and regulations <br />are an integral part of those agreerrents and the District vvill do its part to implement <br />statutes, codes and regulations through its contractual agreements. Green lVIountain <br />Water & Sanitation District vvill support Denver Water & Metro Wastewater on availability <br />of water reuse systems, both potable and nonpotable. <br /> <br />The Water Service Agreerrent between the Board of Water Corrmissioners and <br />Green lVIountain Water and Sanitation District states that the Denver Water Conservation <br />Plan, attached as Exhibit "B", vvill be implemented throughout the Combined Service Area. <br /> <br />The Water Use Efficiency Plan is being developed to provide a policy and a <br />guideline for future water conservation activities in the Green lVIountain Water & Sanitation <br />District. The plan vvill begin by identifying specific goals for reduction of water use in each <br />segment of the district's customer base and methods to reach those goals. <br /> <br />Once the plan is better defined, it vvill be carried out through Annual Conservation <br />Actions Plans. Each action plan vvill list the specific measures or programs to be <br />implemented that year in each category, along vvith associated costs, responsibilities, and <br />targergoats: -1\ctroll-plans vvilt alMinc1ude antwaluation of the preVlOu~ y~rs plan..;; .- <br />what \IVOrked and what didn't, what goals were met, what needs to be changed, and other <br />relevant information. Copies of the annual plan vvill be available upon request at the <br />district office by December of each year beginning in 1997. <br /> <br />The plan vvill be an ever-evolving document. New ideas which rreet the criteria <br />vvill be added as they are developed. Existing ideas that have been fully implemented or <br />are deemed no longer viable vvill be deleted. The entire plan vvill be thoroughly re- <br />evaluated at least every five years. <br /> <br />3 <br />
