<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />WATER CONSERVATION RESOURCE PROJECT <br />PROJECT SUMMARY: <br /> <br />Pur{>ose: <br />Little Thompson Water District and the Berthoud Public Library would like to <br />establish a resource library available to the general public covering a wide range of information <br />pertaining to water conservation, <br /> <br />Need: <br /> <br />Water in Colorado is a limited resource and the public needs to be educated and <br />encouraged to use the limited natural resource wisely, Currently the Berthoud Public Library has <br />only one book on the subject of water conservation. To help educate the public about how water <br />can be conserved and the benefits of water conservation we need to establish an educational <br />resource in the library and then let the public know that the resources are available in the library, <br /> <br />!m.Plementation: <br /> <br />Resource: We are proposing to purchase resources including the following and making <br />them available to the public through the Berthoud Public Library: <br /> <br />o Home water conservation books, <br />o "Xeriscape" landscaping books. <br />o "Xeriscape" periodicals, <br />o "Xeriscape" computer CD-ROM database, <br />o "Xeriscape" VHS Video tapes, <br />o '" Other water conservation materials and resources as they are located, <br />o Educational displays depicting water service, lawn sprinklers, and other ideas that <br />could be used on display in the regional libraries to promote the resource as well as <br />water conservation. <br /> <br />Education: We are proposing to use a portion of the funds to advertize the availability of <br />the resource, We are proposing the following methods of advertizing to let the public <br />know about the resource that is available. <br /> <br />o Press release about the awarding of the grant. <br />o Grand opening of the new section in the library, <br />o Press release about the opening of the new section in the library, <br />o Advertizing in the local newspapers during the first year about the resource, <br />o Advertizing in the Little Thompson Water District newsletter, ( 3xJyear), <br />
