Town of Castle Rock
Water Conservation Plan

reduce water waste by curtailing irrigation of public areas following rainstorms, and during
times when adequate personnel are not present to monitor systems, i.e. weekends.

As with residential measures, parks and utilities departments can implement similar
procedures, and expect similar results. This includes leak detection and repair within the
distribution system, for which the Town has an ongoing program; metering of all water
system users, which Castle Rock has done; and water pressure and demand monitoring.

The Town is currently acquiring the CIRCE (Colorado Integrated Resource Conservation
Economics) model to assist in determining the impacts of conservation measures on future
demands; to help develop and review water rate structures which must support capital
requirements and operations; and then compare the benefits and costs of alternate water
projects.

23
