<br />r <br /> <br />t) <br /> <br />..ro <br /> <br />textured soil sites, Due to the extent of the CSU surge <br />data in Bent County, greater emphasis was directed to the <br />BWCI project information, education, and demonstration <br />efforts and components in 1995 and 1996, These efforts are <br />covered in the RESULTS section of this report, <br /> <br />PROJECT SUPPORT <br /> <br />The project included participation from the following <br />agencies and organizations: <br /> <br />Bent County Farm Services Agency Committee <br />Colorado State University - Cooperative Extension <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board - Department of <br />Natural Resources <br /> <br />Fort Lyon Canal Company <br />Natural Resources Conservation Service <br />Southeast Colorado RC&D <br /> <br />Bent Soil Conservation District has served as the lead <br />organization in the implementation of this project. The <br />district provided oversight and funding accountability <br />through the SCD Board of Directors, Clerical assistance was <br />provided by the District Clerk, <br /> <br />Bent FSA County Committee provided financial support, <br />through the Agriculture Conservation Program (ACP) , for the <br />installation of needed irrigation system improvements (i.e, <br />underground pipelines, gated pipe, etc,) to support the <br />implementation of surge irrigation systems. <br /> <br />Colorado State University-Cooperative Extension provided <br />technical expertise and background research data, in the <br />operation and management of surge irrigation systems, <br />through Jim Valliant, Regional Irrigation Specialist, <br /> <br />Assistance in dissemination of information was and is being <br />provided by the Colorado State University Extension Agent in <br />Bent County, <br /> <br />The Colorado Water Conservation Board provided funding in <br />support of the project through an Agricultural/Multipurpose <br />Water Conservation and Water Use Efficiency Grant, <br /> <br />The Fort Lyon Canal Company provided assistance in the <br />scheduling and delivery of irrigation water, within their <br />established policies and procedures, in accordance with the <br />adjudicated water rights of the participating producers, <br /> <br />The NRCS (Las Animas Field Office) provided technical <br />assistance in the planning and implementation of on-farm <br />irrigation systems, In addition, assistance has been <br />provided in collection, compilation, and evaluation of <br />producer findings, Documentation of the project and <br />
