Per Capita Water Use

The division of water sales (in million gallons per day) by the population served is called
per capita water use and is reported in gallons per capita per day (gpcd). Table 25 shows per
capita water use for total annual water use and residential use.

According to Water Conservation by William O. Maddaus (AWWA, 1987), water used
in the home typically ranges from 60 to 80 gpcd. In the past six years, Loveland's residential
per capita use has been between 67.4 and 73.8 gpcd. Water use outside the home varies with
the climate, but can add from 30 to more than 100 gpcd,
