;- . . EXHIBIT A 1. Scope of Services The Project consists of the Contractor developing an effective water conservation education program for middle school children and the adult community. The Contractor will build an integrated water conservation education program lhat will become part of the curriculum for six, seventh, and eighth grades. The affected teachers will be shown complete and effective activities for their students before they incorporate water education into lheir classes. The curriculum will be prepared such that teachers may pick and choose the various activities. The Contractor will also develop an effective water conservation program and related materials for customers of the Contractor. The Contractor will develop materials for use by the general public and merge this program with the other water conservation plans of the Contractor such as conservation rates and pipeline leak detection. The Project goals include: increasing community awareness of the effects of water conservation devices, extending the useful life of the Contractor's water system, and to collecting data for evaluation of future programs. The Contractor will develop a collection of 35mm photographic slides showing the use of water conservation techniques in the local area. The Contractor will also develop a VHS tape showing successful water conservation techniques, organize a speaking program to be used by staff and board members for public presentation, develop workshops on water conservation for the general public, and design materials to be used by visitors to the water treatment facilities. The Contractor will publicize the Project through the District's newsletter and the local papers. . The Contractor will have on record the monthly water usage of each household. This will allow the Contractor to track usage and savings, before and after the project. The Contractor will conduct a survey of the teachers utilizing the cwricu1um and the customers of the Contractor. A Final Report shall be compiled u~n completion of the Project. The Final Report shan include a summary of the Project, discussion of the Project implementation, Project findings and water savings results. The Final Re~rt will not only conclude the Project but will serve as information to be shared with other Colorado communities. 2. Proiect TIme of Perfonnance The Project will commence on September 1, 1993 or upon fun and proper execution of this Contract. The Project will be completed on or before December 1, 1994. However, the Project time of performance may be extended subject to the mutual agreement of the State and Contractor. A written request for extension shall be submitted to the State by the Contractor at least thirty (30) days prior to December 1, 1994, and shall include a full justification for the extension request.
