Dissemination of Information
The City will continue to promote water conservation through the use of
pamphlets. Pamphlets will be available at three locations, City Hall, the Red
Mountain Water Treatment Plant and the Wastewater Plant at 401 West 7th
Street. One bulk mailing will be conducted in 1997 to all water customers.
The City will continue to promote tours of its water and wastewater treatment
facilities.
Customer water use histories will be looked at for all high usage customers.
High usage customers will be contacted directly about ways to use water more
efficiently.
Public Education will be enhanced by the use of T. V., radio and newspaper.
The xeriscape project will be promoted and pertinent information will be made
available to the public.
7. Water Rate Structures
The City will continue to adjust rates as deemed necessary for future
improvements. It is strongly believed that a solid conservation program will
defer rate increases and improvements.
8. Regulatory Measures
The City will continue to enforce its "waste of water" ordinance. Step by step
procedures will be developed for the enforcement of this ordinance.
9. Incentives to Implement Water Use Efficiency Techniques
The City will possibly look at rate reduction for water efficiency design. This
is unknown at the present time.
10. Other Water Management Activities
The City will inform the unmetered accounts of the requirement to be metered
by 2009. The City will encourage customers to meter before the deadline.

7.1
