<br />Secondly, the process of growing a coalition and facilitating a collaborative effort to <br />assure certain realities such as adequate in-stream flows was initiated by the Ideas Festival <br />and will be continued by the Telluride Institute in the coming months. Follow-up <br />gatherings between major water owners is expected to secure minimum in-stream flows <br />for the upper San Miguel River. In addition, a Whole Basin Forum planned for early <br />1993 is intended as an initital information exchange for agency officials from the Bureau of <br />Land Management, Forest Service and Divsion of Wildlife etc. Significant amounts of <br />information exist on the San Miguel River basin, but that information is, in many cases, <br />either raw data or otherwise not readily usable or accessible. <br /> <br />An options paper suggesting water conservation implementation strategies for local <br />government is in process and will be completed by mid-December.
