<br />Water Closets (Toilets) shall have an average consumption of not <br />more than 1,6 gallons (6.1 liters) of water per flush. <br />Urinals shall have an average water consumption of not more than <br />1.0 gallon (3.8 liters) per flush. Exception: With approval of <br />Administrative Authority, blowout urinals may be installed for public <br />use in stadiums, race courses, fairgrounds, and other structures used <br />for outdoor assembly and for similar uses. <br />Non-Metered Faucets (Lavatory faucets) shall be equipped with <br />aerators and shall be designed and manufactured so that they will not <br />exceed a water flow rate of 2.5 gallons (9.5 liters) per minute. <br />Metered Faucets (Self-closing or self-closing metering faucets) shall <br />be installed on lavatories intended to serve the transient public, such <br />as those in, but not limited to, service stations, train stations, <br />airports, restaurants, and conventions halls. Metered faucets shall <br />deliver not more than .25 gallons (1.0 liter) of water per use. <br />Kitchen Faucets shall be equipped with aerators and shall be designed <br />and manufactured so that they will not exceed a water flow rate of <br />2.5 gallons (9.5 liters) per minute. <br />Showerheads shall be designed and manufactured so that they will <br />not exceed a water supply flow rate of 2.5 gallons (9.5 liters) per <br />minute. Emergency safety showers may exceed this rate. <br /> <br />These requirements apply to both new construction as well as replacement <br />fixtures. As older fixtures are replaced over the years, additional water <br />savings will be achieved. <br /> <br />Monitoring and Evaluation <br />Ensure Fountain's standards are kept current with EI Paso County Regional <br />Building Department standards, Uniform Plumbing Code regulations, and <br />AWWA standards. An annual review, under the guidance of the Utilities <br />Director, shall be conducted to ensure the water conservation plan conforms <br />to the above standards and regulations. <br /> <br />II.
