SUBJECT: Agenda Item 13, July 24-25, 1995 Board Meeting-
Development of Water Conservation Plans, Criteria for
Acceptance of Water Conservation Plans, and MOU between
the CWCB and Colorado Water and Power Development
Authority for Acceptance and Approval of Water Conservation
Plans as stated in C.R.S, 37-60-126,

Introduction

In an effort to comply with C.R.S. 37-60-126, the staff has prepared a document
clarifying the criteria for development of water conservation plans, criteria for
acceptance of these plans and a draft MOD between CWCB and the Colorado
Water and Power Development Authority (CWPDA). The staff has received
several water conservation plans by entities requesting our review and acceptance
in meeting the requirements of C.R.S. 37-60-126. The staff will be spending the
next 11 months working with entities that need to meet the above requirements in
order to expedite the acceptance of their plans prior to their request for financial
assistance from the Board. The staff will offer one on one professional and
technical assistance to all entities falling under the requirements of C.R.S. 37-60-
126.
