We plan <br />to offer educational materials on water efficient <br />fixtures and appliances and work with local <br />distributors to offer discounts on new water <br />efficient materials. <br /> <br />2. Low water use landscapes and efficient irrigation. <br /> <br />STATUS: <br /> <br />GOAL: <br /> <br />In 1996, the District installed a Water <br />Conservation Demonstration Garden. It includes <br />landscaping options and efficient irrigation <br />examples. comparative charts will show the water <br />use savings. The garden will be open to the public <br />for tours. <br /> <br />Provide educational materials for customers. <br />Develop a recommended contractor 1 ist. Promote <br />quality water efficient landscaping designed to <br />reduce the costs of irrigation water and <br />maintenance. <br /> <br />3. Water efficient industrial and commercial water using processes. <br /> <br />STATUS: <br /> <br />There is very little industrial and commercial <br />water usage within the District. The District will <br />obtain CUl:rel1t il1[ur.luctLlull fUL-e'f:fTcient COlIDllerciaT <br />water use, and encourage new commercial users to <br />follow new water wise practices. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Water reuse systems, both potable and non-potable. <br /> <br />STATUS: <br /> <br />Although the District uses raw water for <br />landscaping irrigation at District facilities, a <br />re-use system is not economically feasible. <br /> <br />5 <br />
