<br />, <br /> <br />SUMMARY <br /> <br />Efficient use of water supplies will play an increasingly important role in Ute Water's <br /> <br /> <br />long-range water use plaruring. Through wise water use, supplies can be eXlended, the need for <br /> <br /> <br />cos1ly facilities delayed and water resowces protected for future generntions. <br /> <br />To achiev.e these goals, it is necessary 10 get broad-based support for all conserv.ation <br />programs. It is also necessary that efficient water use becomes "second nature" for everyone. <br />Clearly, DO one person or agency can implement such changes in water use behavior. Only systematic, <br />gradual behavior changes, interwoven with advances in technology will permanently reduce water use. <br /> <br />Many different strategies will be used to reach these water conservation goals. Present <br />programs target indoor and outdoor water use, in both the public and private sectors. It is the <br />intent of this Conserv.ation Master Plan to provide a framework for evaluating and monitoring <br />the various programs, while remaining flexible enough to adapt to changing conditions and to <br />communily needs. Snstainabilily in water savings and the cost effectiveness of the program will <br />be key considerntions in assessing various programs. Specific programs will be selected and <br />funded during the annual planning and budgeting process. <br /> <br />Achieving water conservation goals will require the effort and commitment of everyone. <br />The intent of Ute Water is to ensure that future generntions enjoy high quality water in <br />sufficient quantities to meet their needs, and to work closely with citizens to build a foundation <br />for tomorrow through efficient water use today. <br /> <br />22 <br />
