Yes, the project is alive and well! Although
preliminary, I think you'll find the enclosed report and results favorable.

As was decided when the this project began, my office would prepare a preliminary report
followed by a final report at the end of the 18 month evaluation period. I'm pleasantly
surprised at the results. When compared with similar projects conducted elsewhere, the
overall water reduction of 12.34% is on the upper end of reported savings. I don't know how
the gas and electric savings compares. I will be anxious to see what our final analysis shows
after 18 months of data collection.

Data collection has been an important component of this project. We have been gathering
information on water and energy consumption for the past year. We have also conducted
a survey of the 100 project participants. A total of 61 participants responded to the survey.

As noted in the report, many of the details are not included. I welcome any comments that
you may have, particularly as they may affect the final report. As in the past, I thank you
for your participation in this project.

Sincerely,

~

Kim Hout, Administrator
Office of Water Conservation

enclosure
