<br />-- 9-0:0: e:2a......; <br /> <br />II 2_ € <br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br />April 2, 1998 <br />Page 6 <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />Water Conservation Plan: Greg Clifton. Assistant City Attorney, informed the <br />Council that the City of Montrose's Water Conservation Plan is up for review. <br />State Statute requires that we post a notice to allow for a 60 day review <br />process. Mr. Patterson noted that the name Menoken Water Company needs to <br />be changed to Menoken Water District. Motion was made by Bill Patterson. <br />seconded by Bill Cooper. to approve the plan and submit for a 60 day public <br />review, with the one correction, changing the name of Menoken Water Company <br />to Menoken Water District. All voted yes. <br /> <br />Patrik Davis Contract. Greg Clifton. Assistant City Attorney. informed the <br />Council that the Patrik Davis Contract needs to be revised because of cost of <br />construction documents. The cost is S25.900.00 instead of $24,300.00. a <br />difference of $1.600.00. Motion was made by Tom Cheney. seconded by Bill <br />Patterson to authorize an additional Sl ,600.00 for the Patrik Davis Contract for <br />the cost of construction documents. All voted yes. <br /> <br />Contract to Purchase 3.656 Acres in the Bullock Plant Subdivision: Greg Clifton. <br />Assistant City Attorney. informed the Council that the contract to purchase 3.656 <br />acres was in the final review process. The City would acquire 3.656 acres in the <br />Bullock Plant subdivision near the river way in exchange for cooperation and <br />assistance with the subdividing process necessary to divide and distribute the <br />Property. Two environmental surveys have been done on the property. the last <br />one being done in 1992. There does not seem to be any environmental <br />encumbrances on the property that the City will be purchasing. Motion was <br />made by Tom Cheney. seconded by Bill Patterson to authorize the City to enter <br />into a contract with the Public Service Company of Colorado to purchase 3.656 <br />acres in exchange for cooperation and assistance with the subdividing process <br />necessary to divide and distribute the Property. All voted yes. <br /> <br />Appointment to the Colorado Municipal Leaque: Greg Clifton. the City Attorney. <br />asked for the Council's endorsement of him seeking re-election to the Colorado <br />Municipal League for a second, two year term. Motion was made by Bill <br />Patterson, seconded by Bill Cooper, to endorse Mr. Clifton running for re-election <br />to the Colorado Municipal League for a second, two year term. All voted yes. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />Resolution supportinq the Ballot Question for the Montrose Fire District: The City <br />Council considered a joint resolution with the County of Montrose. supporting the <br />Ballot Question for an additional fire station. Mr. Cheney voiced his concern for <br />urban sprawl into the rural areas of the County and did not feel that a second <br />Fire Station was necessary. <br />
