Water waste ordinance <br /> <br />Status: City Code 14'(J4.4':JO prohibits the waste of water by allowing it to run in any <br />gutter or other impervious surface and serving no beneficial use. This ordinance is <br />currently enforced by complaint <br /> <br />Implementation: On-going. <br /> <br />4. Landscape ordinance <br /> <br />Status: City Code 18.76 establishes minimum standards and criteria for landscaping for <br />subdivisions and commercial development. <br /> <br />Paragraph 1 R.71i.0 1 0 F states "Xeriscape design principles and use of xeriscape plant <br />materials shall be promoted by the city; all city projects will employ xeriscape principles." <br /> <br />Paral!raph 18.71i.030 B states "Minimum Landscaping Requirements for Public Areas. <br />All landscaping in these areas shall meet xeriscape standards unless the city fmds that <br />such installation would be contrary to the purposes of this chapter or impractical due to <br />site conditions." <br /> <br />Paragraoh 17.71i.030.C.19 defines Xeriscape standards and indicates a plant list is <br />published by Parks and Planning divisions. <br /> <br />The landscape ordinance does not address private residential landscaping. <br /> <br />Implementation: On-going. Periodically evaluate, update and strengthen the Code as <br />necessary. <br /> <br />5. Unit Development <br /> <br />Status: City Code 19.60.060 establishes design standards for planned unit development <br /> <br />Paragraph 19.00.01i0 A 1 provides a one percent density increase bonus for "Landscaping <br />entire site with xeriscaping, as defined in the landscape regulations (Chapter 18.76 of the <br />code)." <br /> <br />Implementation: On-going. Periodically evaluate the Code as necessary. <br /> <br />23 <br />
