.

Taking Care of Your Lawn, 6 pages

b. Schools (WWSD):

.

In addition to the information developed for the

general public several other items were designed for use by

school faculty and their students. The first completed

materials included 41 slides that show the different ways

water is conserved and wasted throughout the district.

Individual homes and yards were photographed so that

comparisons of water conservation and waste could be

observed. The actual water use by each of the homes was

determined and is used to help the students understand what

the photographs are illustrating. Graphic and subsequent

questions and answers are employed to develop a higher level

understanding of water and its use in the district. The

time to develop the slide presentation was under estimated.

The complete development took nearly 40 hours rather than

the original estimation of 25 hours. The materials have

been used by WWSD employees in presentations to classes

throughout the Lewis Palmer School District.

.

6
