A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING lliE CITY'S INTENT TO ADOPT A WATER CONSERVATION
PLAN.

WHEREAS. conservation of water and the prolllOtion of efficient usage is
important to the City: and

WHEREAS, the implementation of a water conservation plan will help extend
existing water supplies to serve more uses: and

WHEREAS. the reduction of summer water usage with lower demands can result in
deferring future capital expenditures: and

WHEREAS. the State of Colorado has determined that each water supplier that
treats 2000 acre.feet or IIIOre must have a Water Conservation Plan adopted by
June of 1996;

NOW. lliEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED BY lliE CIlY OF CORTEZ:

lliAT the City has developed a Water Conservation Plan that will be used to
promote the efficient consumption of all water usage by residents, businesses.
and local governments to more beneficially use our water resources; and

FURTHER. that the City will hold the Plan for publ ic review for sixty (60)
days to receive input before adopting the plan. and encourages the public to
mak.e comments.
