It includes: <br /> <br />· The conservation program pUIpOse and goals <br />· A description of current conservation measures <br />· A review of the recently completed public survey <br />· The screening process for designing specific conservation. measures <br />· A description of conservation measures selected for further evaluation <br /> <br />In Chapter 7, the selected measures will be evaluated on the basis of benefit/cost ratios, <br />ease of implementation, and other non-monetary factors. A fmal list of measures will be <br />selected and further developed to become part of an overall water management plan outlined in <br />Chapter 8. <br /> <br />PURPOSE AND GOALS <br /> <br />The purpose of expanding the District's conservation program is to; <br /> <br />· Reduce future District operating costs. <br />· Reduce cost and environmental impacts of new water supplies. <br />· Reduce unit wastewater flows. <br />· Meet the requirements of the Colorado Conservation Act. <br /> <br />Specific goals of the program are to; <br /> <br />· Increase public awareness of methods to use water more efficiently. <br /> <br />.... R.educe-watet use by. fte\\' customers in -tlie residential, .public, and private <br /> <br />sectors. <br /> <br />· Reduce in home and other sanitary based internal water usage to lower <br />wastewater flows. <br /> <br />· Develop a database to establish current use, provide better demand <br />predications, and allow measurement of future conservation impact. <br /> <br />· Review and establish better methods of accounting for current usage and <br />reducing the unaccounted percentage of water demand. <br /> <br />21-6657 <br />
