Non-Potable Water Supplies

The District has made limited use of non-potable or untreated groundwater supplies for
open space irrigation. They intend to investigate cost-effective non-potable alternatives in the
future. Non-potable supplies applied with efficient irrigation techniques can serve to reduce
peaks potable water summer demands. Non-potable supplies are also typically less expensive
to apply due to reduced energy, chemical, and labor demands associated with the delivery of
potable water.
