East Cherry Creek Valley Water & Sanitation District
Water Conservation Plan

for the community as a whole; and it helps to ensure that overall the District is making the
wisest use of a precious resource, water.

The long term water conservation measures considered in the District's long range plan are issues
that should be addressed on an on-going basis. These issues are identified by the future water
conservation measure listed in the previous section.

These will then be" a guideline for development of annual work plans, and should expand as ideas
and technologies become available. The long range water conservation plan should be revised
every three years to update, and review the approaches contained within it, and to evaluate success
rates of implemented measures.

The annual work plan considers implementation of the long range plan by identifying measures
which can be addressed within the scope of one year. It is the means by which District water
conservation goals are accomplished, and new goals fashioned.

The annual workplan identifies the strategies, objectives, timelines, and budgets by which these
should be accomplished. Elements of the annual work plan should include:
1. Review and update of water conservation master plan
2. Development of specific programs to promote water conservation practices
3. Evaluation of ongoing programs
4. Staff and annual budgets to fund programs

The following is a table of proposed measures to be addressed within the current year's annual
workplan.

10
