ENCLOSURE - INSTREAM FLOW RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ITALIAN CREEK <br /> Below is a description of the proposed instream flow. Additional details can be found in Attachments A- <br /> F. <br /> Location <br /> Italian Creek is located within the Upper Taylor watershed (HUC-12: 140200010202) in Gunnison <br /> County, Water Division 4(Attachment A).The headwaters originate on the north side of Italian <br /> Mountain. Italian Creek flows east to the confluence with the Taylor Fork River, upstream of Taylor Park <br /> Reservoir.The Italian Creek watershed is about 16.8 square miles and is on the Italian Creek United <br /> States Geologic Survey quad map (Attachment Q. <br /> The stream segment identified for the proposed instream flow appropriation is approximately 2.42 miles <br /> long and starts immediately downstream of the confluence with South Italian Creek. <br /> Table 1. The riparian corridor ownership percentages were calculated using stream length. <br /> The Italian Creek watershed is 99 percent public land managed by the United States Forest Service <br /> (USFS).The riparian corridor of the proposed segment is 100 percent public land managed by the USFS. <br /> Existing Instream Flow Rights <br /> The Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) holds two existing instream flow rights on Italian <br /> Creek.The first is a flat rate instream flow of 1.5 cfs (1/1- 12/31)that extends 5.08 miles from the <br /> headwaters of Italian Creek to the confluence of Italian Creek and South Italian Creek(Case No. 4- <br /> 84CW353, WDID. 5901490).This instream flow right has an appropriation date of 5/4/1984. <br />
