Taylor, Teek, and Windels.

CONCERNING SUPPORT FOR THE RUETER-HESS RESERVOIR IN
THE PARKER WATER AND SANITATION DISTRICT.

WHEREAS, An adequate supply of high-quality water is essential for
the economy, sustainable growth, and the quality of life of residents of the
Parker, Colorado area; and

WHEREAS, Colorado is an arid state that has periodic droughts and
must carefully conserve and reuse its limited supply of water as much as

WHEREAS, Douglas County and the south metro area is especially
vulnerable to drought and water supply storage problems; and

WHEREAS, The Parker area is dependent on ground water and its
nonrenewable aquifer; and

WHEREAS, The Parker Water and Sanitation District has been in the
forefront of helping residents conserve and reuse water; and

WHEREAS, Rueter-Hess Reservoir is a proposed 16,000 acre-foot
reservoir to be built 3 miles southwest of the Town of Parker; and

WHEREAS, Rueter-Hess Reservoir will provide a water management
tool for the Parker Water and Sanitation District that will store runoff and
help preserve the aquifer by regulating peak-day pumping requirements; and

WHEREAS, Rueter-Hess Reservoir has the support of Douglas County,
